Mama Mia Trattoria

This place was recommended to me as a great place to take my vegetarian friend and I have to agree. The food overall was very good, there was a lot of it, and the logistics were efficient.   The gnocchi with pesto sauce was very tasty and not too heavy.  The Veal Marsala was quite good, met my expectations, but was not the very best I’ve ever had.  The fried calamari was good yet a bit average, altho I love that it was served w/ marinara sauce.  It was also a large portion.  The calamari is better at Sel Gris where they add more flavor to the fried calamari.  The spinach side was fine, nothing special.  We had a drinkable carafe of chianti for $20.  The staff was very efficient, or at least they seemed hurried (not in a bad way).  We did get our starters before our wine but the food came out very fast. The web site does say that reservations are recommended so I called ahead and we were seated immediately.  A slight downside was that the place had many children, and while I love kids, I don’t always like to listen to other people’s kids at dinner.
